This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things – so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of strategy and a market analysis of the price of the card in previous months. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into.
In this edition I will be looking at the Efreet Elder.

Strategy

I will be focusing my analysis on the usefulness of this card in lower leagues (i.e. bronze to gold).
This card’s main features are its high HP and the Last Stand ability. These two combined can make Efreet Elder a very useful card. The card costs 6 mana, which does not leave a lot of room for it to be used in low mana battles. In medium mana battles it can be used as the last card and can catch a lot of opponents off guard. Furthermore, this card has 3 speed, which is not too bad and can be further increased under Pyre.
The current drawback of this card is that there is no Fire Summoner that can take this card to the next level in terms of usefulness. If ever a magic Fire summoner appears, this card’s value will go significantly up.
This is still a useful card, so I would advise getting it if you can – it is at its lower price in a while, but more on this in the next section.

Market analysis

In my opinion, an interesting card to have, more so given its current price.
Let’s look at the last 6 months.

Looking at the graph, the following can be concluded:

• in regular foil, there is a clear downward tendency. While a resistance may have been found at the 0.3$ price range, it is still too early to tell.
• in gold foil, the card reached a 6 month low at 8$ for a short period of time, having bounce back right after. The next weeks will determine if this a sustained climb or just a correction given recent drop in value.

Overall, the price of this card has been following the trend of the markets.
