This plant comes originally from the American Continent. It grows from the northern side of SouthAmerica to Peru.
USES:
It is used to wash sore eyes, to relieve rheumatic pains and it is said that it makes labor and delivery easier.
Flowers on herbal infusion are used to lower fever, relieve cold and apply on the skin to relieve chickenpox.
Flowers help to relieve painful periods, headaches and/or irritability which appear with menstruation.
Leaves are used against strong colds and lung disease.
On vapor baths it relieves pain produced from varicose veins.
Smashed leaves in 70° alcohol are used to relieve dizziness. So it is suggested to rub fronthead, temples and feet.
Boiled leaves and flowers are used in vagina irrigations to keep intimate women hygiene.
BUT BE CAREFUL… because its fruits are highly toxic and they can produce muscle weakness, fast heart beat, breathing difficulties and vascular stroke.
NOTE. According to folk wisdom it is said that it is useful against bad luck.
