Hello dear community,
after our palace tour, we first treated ourselves to a good Korean dinner in one of the many small restaurants in a small side alley. Freshly prepared bulgogi with rice and side dishes. Simply marvelous. And that for us 4 together for the equivalent of 30 €, just incredible.
Well satiated we went on to Hongdae. This district is known for the nightlife and is mainly populated by students, because right next door is the Hongik University. There are restaurants, cafes, clubs and stores lined up and on the streets in the evening all hell breaks loose.
All this was already great to see. The real reason for our visit there, however, was the fact that unknown K-Pop bands perform there every evening and show off their skills. Actually, it's all about dancing and the music comes from the tape, but it's a real show. We were able to see 2 performances and it was really nice to watch. They had some great moves and when everyone dances in sync it really makes a difference. Even more so when the large crowd of spectators cheers loudly.
Seoul seems to be a great city for students. And since Koreans have to work a lot for school in their childhood and have extremely little free time, they really let it rip as students for the first time. Who can blame them?

nach unserer Palasttour gönnten wir uns erstmal ein gutes koreanisches Abendessen in einem der vielen kleinen Restaurants in einer kleinen Seitengasse. Frisch am Tisch zubereitetes Bulgogi mit Reis und Beilagen. Einfach herrlich. Und das für uns 4 zusammen für umgerechnet 30 €, einfach unglaublich.
Gut gesättigt machten wir uns auf nach Hongdae. Dieser Stadtteil ist bekannt für das Nachtleben und wird hauptsächlich von Studenten bevölkert, da sich direkt Nebenan die Hongik Universität befindet. Es reihen sich Restaurants, Caffes, Clubs und Geschäfte aneinander und auf den Straßen ist abends die Hölle los.
Das alles war schon toll anzusehen. Der eigentliche Grund unseres Besuchs dort war jedoch der Umstand, dass dort jeden Abend noch unbekannte K-Pop Bands auftreten und Ihr Können zum Besten geben. Eigentlich geht es her nur um tanz und die Musik kommt vom Band aber es ist eine echte Show. Wir haben gleich 2 Auftritte miterleben können und es war wirklich schön anzuschauen. Die hatten schon einige tolle Moves drauf und wenn alle synchron tanzen macht das wirklich was her. Um so mehr, wenn die große Menge der Zuschauer lautstark anfeuert.
Also gerade für Studenten scheint Seoul eine tolle Stadt zu sein. Und da die Koreaner in der Kindheit sehr viel für die Schule ackern müssen und extrem wenig Freizeit haben, lassen sie es dann als Studenten eben das erste Mal so richtig krachen. Wer kann es Ihnen verübeln?
