Consider the fact that instead of remedying the problem of poverty in this union, instead of eliminating the need for extreme security, we have institutions that relay on the innate security and secrecy of their systems to carefully store objects of value: whatever the asset stored in your particular nation state. When alternatively, it could be considerably cheaper to use the same money that goes toward building digital safes that store cash, into highway houses with a job training center for those that have a hard time finding gainful employment. Instead so often the war state chooses to spend billions of dollars on Flying Wing designs with stealth features.
That's not to say weapons to defend oneself are never necessary, however that doesn't mean drawing that money away from the people that need it the most. I have a cousin whom has a hard time keeping a job, for sake of her privacy, I shall call her Damenia Illa. She now spends her time learning how to become a mother, in a world that seems so focused on gathering up immigrants by the American gestapo, sending them to various detention facilities across the country, with no assurance whether said folks will live to see another day, or make months later to get back home to Mexico and Latin America. Although she is an American citizen, you have even people of a similar heritage that have shakier residence status, taken away from their homes. And Guantanamo has not yet been closed, despite years of controversy under George W. Bush.
For comparison, Hitler's men were hung during the Nuremberg trials. This is a matter of historical record. But in America, our entire national heritage has been paved in blood. Some of our own founding fathers would have been hung if Nuremberg had been in force back then. And America continues to be a blood stain on our heritage of mankind. That's not to say that things like hardware and software security are unimportant, so much that we might have even more money to build an even better infrastructure if big banks were not robbing away our livelihoods.
But we're sold the myth that taxation creates jobs for people in our government, people who, until recently, had not had a potential threat of lost livelihood. They continue to eat Lobster while we eat the dust beneath our shoes. Gouging on our personal assets, giving nothing in return. Giving government assets we haven't even asked for like the American Interstate system, and then going on to claim that if we didn't pay these taxes there would be no highway. This would have been a non-issue if the United States have remained a loose confederation of allied nations. It's only recently, because of the words "The United States is" instead of "the united states are", that massive military transportation was even an issue.
Not mentioned is that the armed personal used to take the train station. Now the only ones that use the Metro are the increasing homeless living under city lights. Lets not directly fight the system, lets make the system irrelevant.
