At IOI City Mall, there is a farm inside that is indoors. Today, I am going to bring you on a tour around this place.
This is a two-storey farm located right inside the mall. It took me a while before being able to locate it.
Some of the hydroponic projects here. This is a fun way to grwo veggies with the fishes swimming beneath. Circulating and being absorbed by the plants.
Fertigation system
Brazilian Spinach edition
I tried growing wheatgrass at home, but it all went really badly, and there was none left. These are all well and happy. They look so lush and green.
From my view, this is also a place where you can bring kids to get educated and gain some awareness of our environment. Maybe pickup a new hobby.
The Plant Garden
A nice place for everyone to learn to farm indoors. Especially away from the blazing heat of Malaysia.
But the stars of the farm are the animals that are here. I enjoyed my time here, looking at the different animal species, especially indoors with the air conditioning. I also got to look at the different animals that otherwise would not have been easily spotted in the wild.
This is one of those snakes that you would not want to meet in the wild.
You can meet the kid. This little one is quite mischievous. You can hold the ropes and bring it around.
There is a parrot and some bird species inside. They are kept in here just to ensure they don't just escape out to the mall.
Some of the insect species found here.
The potato and how it grows. It's quite an interesting insight. Usually, we don't get to see how potatoes grow especially since they are all underground.
The lifecycle of a corn.
The lifecycle of a carrot.
Aquaponics
This is one of the most sustainable ways to rearing fishes at the same time ensuring the balance in nature.
Some of the stuffed animals are taxidermied. I hope that this is not how we look at animals in the future.
Here are some lobsters and crabs.
Huge spiders
You do not want to meet them in person and live in real life. So, I think this is one of those better ways to learn about these spiders.
Japanese macaque
Bats
The hairless bat and the Great roundleaf bat
There is also this glo cave that is indoors that makes you feel like your walking into a cave. With some neon paintings on the wall that can be seen with the UV florescent lights.
That is the tour of the farm in the mall. This is an interesting zoo that you would definitely enjoy if you are in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
Thank you very much for reading my post.
Have a great day.
