Malaysia used to have the longest bridge in South East Asia until Brunei built one. Temburong used to be an isolated from its main capital until Brunei decided to built a bridge from the capital directly into Temburong. I will write a post pretty soon about the longest bridge in Southeast Asia. I drove through it and it was breathtaking. 30 kilometres in length at a cost of more than a billion USD linking rural parts of Brunei to the capital. This new bridge by passes some parts of Malaysia that were used in the past as a transit route into Temburong from Brunei.
Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge
The red colour line is where the bridge is located. Not many Malaysians have driven along this bridge or have seen this bridge in real person. It takes about 21 minutes to cross the bridge. Along are scenic views of islands and the vast ocean.
Bangar, Temburong
This is the main town in Temburong. This part of Brunei used to be isolated from the main city until recently. More development have been seen. This is the town to visit before crossing into Sabah, Malaysia.
District office
Across the Temburong river is the district office. This area has recently seen a spike in locals too. Many Bruneians come here to take pictures.
There is a local market and tourist centre.
Vintage design.
Inspired by what Brunei used to have in the past. It is a walk into memory lane. Wonderful memories. Brunei is clean. Most locals do not litter. There is no law against littering.
My wife walking down from the third floor
We wanted to visit the third floor but it was locked. But I snapped a picture of my wife walking down those steps. There is a very nice section that I recorded videos of that I will share soon.
Brunei " The abode of peace"
Brunei is a peaceful country. This is a tour of Temburong town. Do visit Brunei in the future. There are more post about Brunei pretty soon. Do check them out.
