Last month, I bought a new laptop and unfortunately it came with a webcam embedded in the keyboard. Whenever I use the camera, it feels rather odd to look at myself with my chin being the first thing you see. What I've learnt from photography is that, it's always better to have the camera higher up. Makes me look slimmer. So I had to get a webcam.

Having a camera there is not a really good idea if you want to look good when your on Zoom. I am also planning to use my webcam to do some walkthroughs, or stream.

THE BACK OF THE BOX
This webcam cost around USD 30 / MYR 125. I ordered online.
There are many webcams that are sold which are below 10 USD but I checked the video footage, and it's not as good as it should be.
The built in microphone works pretty well. I stood about 3 metres away and I could still be heard.
THE INSIDE
It is easily mountable on my laptop's monitor without clips so no damage done on the screen. There is a tripod screw hole for easy mount on standard tripods if you do not want it on the monitor. The power and connection to the computer is via the USB. No drivers needed. Just plug in and use directly. After a couple weeks of use, I find it pretty convenient to use. The computer doesn't have a problem detecting it and it is treated like an internal camera which is an option in most of the applications that needs a camera like Zoom.

This webcam from my view is good. The video quality is decent. Since the pandemic, we have had to go online and meet people virtually and to make a good first impression is to imagine what the other person sees.
From my view, it is better to get a good quality product especially electronics that have a longer life rather than buying cheaper low quality products which not so long after breaks down and you have to buy a new one. I try my best not to produce as much waste as I can. In case, your planning to get a webcam, this could be one of your choices.
