Have you ever wondered what kind of the first impression your voice, smile, body language, hairstyle, and clothing will leave?
Have you thought about what impression you would like to leave with all of these listed doings?
Backstory
Lately, my classmate was really honest with me and asked how can he improve his public performance skills? He said that he is nervous and that he doesn't have that enjoyable feeling while performing.
So this post is dedicated to him. Oh also, thanks for this good post idea dude!
Public and live performance
Have you asked a person close and trustful to you, what is his image of You? In other words, what kind of image have you been able to create yourself?
To a large view, the image of a person shapes how he interacts with the environment and people.Someone is thought to simply become a communicator, and another is not. Still, it is believed that a good look is a key to good communication skills.
This is only true in part.
It's really sad that a great talent is left behind because of braveness, or worthless thoughts are not made because of lack of communication skills.
The best way to learn both communication and presentation skills is to study from other people who have open eyes and ears and to see what they see.
Oh, and if you think, why do I teach you how to perform? Well, I've performed on lots of singing competitions. Trumpet contests too but they are different, you don't have to talk that much, you just play!
The main part
If you need to perform for other people, be they one, a small group or an endless number of media channels - it doesn't matter. If the content of your message or the manner in which it is presented, does not meet the expectations of the listeners, you will tune in to yourself, which means they do not want to think along with you.
If you are trying to
inform people - think about how to achieve that the social partner will listen to you closely and would like to memorize the information - be serious but funny at the same time.
create a mood - give the listener the opportunity to understand feelings and emotions. For example, voiced greetings, greetings, greetings, and farewell greetings are creative mood speeches - this topic especially goes with singing.
Dialogue
When referring to other people, it's useful to keep in mind the following simple rules(if you don't need this part just simply skip it):
Describe the purpose (wishes, needs, etc.) of your speech as understandable as possible, explaining and justifying the listener honestly, why it matters to you.
Choose the best time and place to deliver your message.
Make sure your body language, voice tone, style, etc. are natural and relevant - again goes well with sining.
When you enter into a conversation with the listener, listen to your thoughts and answer your questions, replies, and more with your partner.
For interviews
Introduce yourself to the interviewee and talk about the information you are using.
Start with softer questions, going to be tougher, more specific.
Ask one question at a time.
Do not ask boring questions (which is your favorite, your favorite color, etc.), but ask what you and your readers might really be interested in (if the interview is based on text not voice or video).
Do not give up! If there's no good answer, talk about a joke or something and ask the same thing later on.
If you do not understand right away, do not be scared to repeat the interviewee's point.
If the source goes away, discontinue it politely and return it to the right topic.
YOU HAVE TO LISTEN! - the answer is a new question.Note the interesting details, small details that characterize the interviewee.
Check the spelling and numbers of the names.
At the end of the conversation thank interviewee.
