Yeah the discussion is fine but I think the community has been pretty clear on the response its response to this so far. A lot of people are investing a lot of time into making communities active and successful and I think any changes to Hive will be received defensively while it is the only way to reward/get rewarded but if there's SMTs, then people might be more open to reducing the main token inflation because it wouldn't be the only source of income on the chain.
