The purchasing power of bitcoin is down over 18% this week. For many who see cryptocurrency as the inevitable future, that means a lot of wealth seemingly disappeared. The shared story telling nature of financial value in a non-violent global consensus ledger took a hit. It hurts for those who identify with owning part of the future. All egoic attachments can lead to suffering and those attachments will be tested again and again.
For those like me who have been through these shocks before (MtGox, Silk Road, numerous hacks and exchange failures, China Ban Bitcoin, etc.), we’re more at peace with this now familiar experience. I remember $120 to $50, $1100 to $250, $19k to $3300, $60k to whatever it is now. Life goes on. I’m identifying my identities and letting them fall away to more fully embody truth.
What I see in the world today is the need for human beings to develop and evolve their consciousness. To be less wrong about their true nature and the nature of reality. This is my personal desire, but I also see how it can benefit life everywhere. We can’t just evolve our technology, we have to also evolve the container for it, the human mind. The problems of human nature like greed and selfishness can be addressed by the individual if they choose to do so. The tools exist and the teachers are here… the world is just waiting for the students to be ready. After enough attachment suffering, I do believe everyone will eventually seek the truth.
The sun will continue to rise.
