Very nicely written! The image used to accompany this piece is very suiting and strikes the eye!
You manage to detail the struggles in the life of a hawker in a splendid way! Your usage of the word 'Boy' at the beginning of each stanza is brilliant and very witty. It forebodes a harsh future for the youth, however there are glimpses of underlying hope here and there. For example, the very ability to return home for the night in the first stanza creates a strong resistance for total disintegration of hope on the difficult evening you describe. Secondly, in the following stanza, the word 'Mama' immediately jumped off the page when I first read the poem; it offered a complete sense of comfort and security. The fact that the word itself is situated at the very core of the stanza added to this. Lastly, the final few lines speak for themself. They are an ode to hope at its finest as you plant a seed of great things to come in the boy's mind; a golden future free of afflictions - the only thing he needs to do it never give up!
