Through devotion and practice, liberty from the wheel of samsara is possible and in fact inevitable, yet you are correct in saying that 'no one is free from emotion of karma.' To obsess over emancipation from one's karmic predicament is to fall into a vicious trap. The trick is to fall in love with and devote one's life to the very life one finds him/herself in.

Life is like a college course - the question is: are you going to take the curriculum?

Flow with the river and you will become the water.
