Learn how to do Manual Curation but having bots as backups in order to not lose Curation Rewards!

As everyone already knows, when you curate posts on Hive by voting on them, you're elegible to receive Curation Rewards. Right now, 50% of the Hive rewards goes to the author, and 50% stays with you, the curator, the person who voted on that content.
"Manual Curation" is when you, the user, is manually voting on posts. Manually curating is good for the Blockchain for an obvious reason: it makes more people actually engage on Hive, be it through votes, through comments, or just by actually reading other people's content.
Engagement is what make Hive worthwhile and interesting, after all.
Also, by manually curating, you're able to reward authors that create contents that YOU like, not content that someone else likes.
In the other hand, Manual Curation has one huge problem: it's normal for us to forget about voting, or just be unable to vote for a myriad of reason: vacations, lack of time, diseases... we're humans after all.
And not voting means that you're not receiving your Curation Rewards. And losing money sucks.

That's why "Curation Services" became popular. These services have their own peculiarities, but they all work similarly:
1- You delegate your Hive Power (HP) to them;
2- They perform the daily curation, finding interesting contents and voting on them, in order to properly spend the daily Voting Power;
3- They distribute the Curation Rewards back to you.
Usually, these services charge a small fee (5% or 10% for example) to maintain the services (servers, software maintenance and development, bug fixing, etc.), pay the administrators, pay the curators, all that jazz.
The main advantage of those services is that 1) they're doing the whole work for you; and 2) if they're very well managed, they're always spending their daily Voting Power, maximizing your Curation Rewards.
And we all like maximizing the ROI of our assets, right?

So why not merge the benefits of Manual Curation and the safety of the ROI of a Curating Service?
Curation Trails are, in very simple terms, following another account and "copying" their votes. If the followed account votes, you're also voting. In other words, trails are a way to "piggyback" on the votes done by other curators.
You can setup Curation Trails through the https://hive.vote/ website. It's outside the scope of this post to demonstrate how to join curation trails. This great tutorial by 
The strategy I've adopted is to follow the Curation Trail of Curation Services as a "Safety Backup" to my Manual Curation efforts.
If I manually curate, the system won't ever trigger the curation trails. I'll keep voting by myself, and that's great.
But if I don't vote, the curation trails trigger and I start following the votes of the curation services I'm following, thus, guaranteeing my Curation Rewards!
I've set my "Upvote Mana Threshold" to 96%. This means that my Curation Trails will just trigger if my Voting Power ("upvote mana") is higher than 96%.
When I'm manually curating, my Voting Power is always under 96%, so I'm never actually following the Trails.
But if I have something going on in my life and can't vote, my Voting Power starts to increase and, when it's over 96%, the system start following the Curation Trails!
Which Curation Trail should I Follow?
Well, there's no "BEST" curation service. You should just follow the ones that vote content that you're actually interested, so you're helping authors that are creating content that you actually want to help.
My only recommendation would be following, at least, a few different curation services, so you'll be totally safe that, when your Voting Power is high, that you'll actually have votes to follow around. If you just follow one curation service, you can have bad luck and temporarily stay without voting anything if that specific curation service is also not voting (for example, if their curators are sleeping).

E não votar significa que você não está recebendo suas Curation Rewards. E isso é ruim.

É por isso que "Curation Services" se tornaram populares. Estes serviços têm suas próprias peculiaridades, mas todos eles funcionam de forma semelhante:
1- Você delega a eles seu Hive Power (HP);

Então por que não mesclar os benefícios de Votar Manualmente com a segurança de um Curation Service?
Curation Trail é uma ferramenta que, em termos muito simples, permite você seguir outra conta e "copiar" seus votos. Se a conta votar, você também vota junto. Em outras palavras, as trilhas são uma forma de "copiar" os votos feitos por outros usuários.

Quais Curation Trails devo Seguir?
Bem, não há nenhum serviço "MELHOR ". Você deve apenas seguir aqueles que votam conteúdo que você está realmente interessado, então você está ajudando os autores que estão criando conteúdo que você gosta.
Minha única recomendação seria seguir, pelo menos, alguns serviços diferentes, assim você estará totalmente seguro de que, quando seu Voting Power ficar alto, você terá realmente votos para serem seguidos. Se você apenas seguir um serviço de curadoria, você pode dar azar e ficar temporariamente sem votar se esse serviço específico também não estiver votando naquele exato momento (por exemplo, se seus administradores estiverem dormindo).
