I confess to countless airplane crashes in this game, which was the first of its kind that I played and could never master - I did better in car simulators and in a programme to which I devoted hours of my time called Sim City.

I'll talk specifically about version 1 which was the one I played, although other improved versions came out that I never tried to play.

First released in 1982, Microsoft's Flight Simulator was one of the first flight simulators for the PC. It was developed by Bruce Artwick and his company, Sublogic Corporation.

This pioneering game allowed players to experience the thrill of flying a virtual aircraft. Although the graphics were simple and the controls basic, it was revolutionary at the time.

Flight Simulator 1 featured a limited selection of aircraft and scenery, but for aviation enthusiasts, it was an exciting opportunity to take command of a virtual aircraft.

As later versions of Flight Simulator progressed, the game became more sophisticated, incorporating improvements in graphics, flight physics and the variety of aircraft and scenery available.

Flight Simulator 1 laid the groundwork for future iterations of the game, setting the standard for PC flight simulators. However, compared to more recent versions of Flight Simulator, the original may seem rather rudimentary.
