Assumptive comments are either an intent to disparage/belittle - or an attempt to claim superiority (in some way), and far more telling about the writer than the recipient of the comment.

Good luck in returning to seeing reality as it is, and using intellectualism to explore instead.
The two are not mutually exclusive, but they are best kept fairly well delineated - otherwise you end up with post modernist 'logic' trying to claim the 'reality ground' ...which is delusion.
