I know it's too late to catch up monthly garden journal challenge but I just wanted to share a little improvement in my garden recently.
It was already a month past the I last updated my garden. Now there are not too many changes since what I have in my garden are just those common veggies that we usually use for instant viand or some just condiments for other dishes. But Father made good work in clearing the weeds around my plants just like my
Tomatoes
After struggling for months of having very hot weather finally, after planting several of them my tomato only two of them survive and one now is carrying some fruits. I am glad that I pruned it because truly it was a very effective cause this time it has been showing many branches and flowers I’m very excited to harvest my tomatoes again.
Taro and water spinach
This newly planted purple taro was just planted a month ago, this was just a scrap from the one I use to plant, and did not go well so I decide to pick up and remove the bad part of the tubber and replanted it again here and fortunately, it seems it’s growing well
Water spinach look so healthy. Before this site was mixed and matched with native water spinach and the high bread but while I’m away father decided to take all the native ones since they grow slower than this type of spinach. We have other parts of the garden in which I also planted this kind of water spinach and they are all striving well.
Purple yam
The newest member in my garden. I found this lovely purple yam in my neighbor's yard. I believe that it grows from a small part that is thrown away. So I took it and before its stem is just a few inches with a small bulb attached to it and now it has a lot of leaves and is ready to glide everywhere.
Another additional vegetable update!
Eggplant top right.
Finally, for the second time bearing its fruits, I can say that this would be successful from five of my planted eggplants. This is the one that has its fruit already. Can’t wait to pick this one up for soup so soon.
Spinach right (center)
Another update is my spinach, it's getting healthier each day the more we cut for consumption the more branches and leaves it produces.
chilies right (below)
Gladly I still have this lonely chili and it produces a few but now the leaves are almost gone stray cows turned it into a snack.
Okras left (below)
My okra’s life is nearly done we're not able to take all the fruit now it's making its life short plus these certain bugs are occupying it. Currently I pick those mature pods to save for future planting.
lemongrass upper left
OMG, right now my lemongrass is growing wild all we need is one pig to roast but sadly we don't have the budget for that right now.
Everything in the garden including those vegetables that I was not able to mention. Right now they are flourishing well because of the rain we encountered this past week. Hopefully everything will stay the same so by end of the month we will have a good harvests then and I’m excited about it.🙏
Thanks for reading this far. Happy gardening everyone.🌿☘️🪴
