In my opinion what we call convenient, in most of the cases, actually, and from an artistic point of view it should be defined as something defined and charged through "ignorance" :)

Nowadays, wehn you, as an artist post your music links, most of the people consider it spamming, when in fact they haven't even clicked on your music :))

For me, the convenient factor it's a simple excuse actually :)
