Siento que se están poniendo de moda, otra vez leer fanfics, o por lo menos algo que tenga que ver con ellos. Hace bastantes años, en la época entre el 2011, y el 2015, aproximadamente, creo que un poquito de años después también siguieron haciéndolo, pero todo comenzó en esa época. Se leían muchísimas historias creadas por fans, de series, películas, libros, o universos ya establecidos. Por poner un ejemplo, había fanfics de series de anime, fan de libros, como Harry Potter, de libros, como Crepúsculo o cazadores de sombra, de películas, como Avatar, entre muchas otras. Y todavía siguen existiendo, obviamente Wattpad es como la comunidad más grande de fanfics, pero hace muchísimos años estaba Fanfic y fanfiction, por lo menos para personas que le íbamos en español. Obviamente, para las personas que leen en inglés hay muchas más variedad en páginas, y en ese en esas plataformas se publicaron muchísimas de estas historias, y muchas de ellas se hicieron demasiado virales, todo el mundo les amaba y las recordaba porque estaban muy bien escritas, a pesar de qué eran unos fanfics.

I feel like reading fanfiction is becoming trendy again, or at least anything related to it. Quite a few years ago, between 2011 and 2015, I think they continued doing it for a little while after that, but it all started around that time. People read lots of stories created by fans, based on series, movies, books, or established universes. For example, there were fanfics about anime series, books such as Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Mortal Instruments, movies such as Avatar, among many others. And they still exist. Obviously, Wattpad is the largest fanfic community, but many years ago there were Fanfic and Fanfiction, at least for those of us who read in Spanish. Obviously, for people who read in English, there is much more variety in terms of websites, and many of these stories were published on those platforms, and many of them went viral. Everyone loved them and remembered them because they were very well written, despite being fan fiction.

Y la semana pasada estuve haciendo reseña de un libro que se llama Rose In Chains, el cual originalmente tenía otro título, y era un fanfic de una historia de romance, ambientada en el universo de Harry Potter, como pareja principal, tendríamos a Hermione y Draco, personajes que obviamente no son canon en la historia original y que se podía considerar como enemigos naturales. Esta nueva historia se cambió totalmente, para poder considerarse una historia original. Obviamente los personajes, el mundo y todo cambió y ahora tiene el nombre de Rose In Chains, y es una historia original que se está haciendo bastante aclamada por el público. Lo mismo está ocurriendo con el libro llamado Manacled. Este también es un fan de la misma pareja, pero que era muchísimo más oscuro, era muy largo, estaba solo en inglés y era muy muy muy oscuro, se tocaban temas demasiado sensibles y bastante cuestionables. Sé que alguien hizo la traducción de este libro, obviamente no fue ninguna editorial porque no pueden estar en editorial, y la autora (Senlinyu) tampoco lo hizo. Fue un grupo de personas que hicieron la traducción para que las personas en especial pudieran leerlo, pero la verdad es que yo no quise hacerlo porque no es mi estilo. Si me gusta leer Fanfics, lo he hecho un montón de veces, pero particularmente ese no era mi estilo.

Last week, I was reviewing a book called Rose In Chains, which originally had a different title and was a fanfic romance story set in the Harry Potter universe. The main couple was Hermione and Draco, characters who are obviously not canon in the original story and could be considered natural enemies. This new story was completely changed so that it could be considered an original story. Obviously, the characters, the world, and everything changed, and now it's called Rose In Chains, and it's an original story that is becoming quite acclaimed by the public. The same thing is happening with the book called Manacled. This is also a fanfic of the same couple, but it was much darker, very long, only available in English, and very, very dark, touching on topics that were too sensitive and quite questionable. I know that someone translated this book, obviously it wasn't a publisher because they can't be in publishing, and the author (Senlinyu) didn't do it either. It was a group of people who did the translation so that people in particular could read it, but the truth is that I didn't want to do it because it's not my style. I do like reading fanfiction, I've done it a lot, but that particular one wasn't my style.

Y les mencioné justamente esta historia, porque ahora se está haciendo muy viral una historia llamada Alchemised, con el mismo caso de Rose In Chains. Es decir, esta autora (Senlinyu) transformó su fanfic original, para volverlo una historia que pudiera salir en editorial, que se considera original, y le dio un giro totalmente distinto. Yo, la verdad, no sé si lo voy a leer. Me está llamando bastante la atención, pero lo que me preocupa es que es una fantasía bastante oscura y la verdad, yo no tengo ningún problema con tocar temas delicados, creo que soy un poquito insensible en ese sentido. Pero siento que como ya sé que eso viene de una historia con una pareja que realmente no me llama la atención, me cuesta un poco separada. Sé que hay personas que recomiendan, no leerse esa historia antigua para poder entender esta, ya que no tienen nada que ver, y que la historia actual está bastante buena. Yo la verdad quería hacer como un momento de reflexión y comparación entre lo que está pasando actualmente en el mundo de la lectura. Todavía no sé que voy a leer, mi próxima lectura está en veremos y la verdad quiero empezar lo más pronto posible. Pero que les encantado a conocer mis opiniones sobre este tema, nos leemos pronto!

I mentioned this story to you because a story called Alchemised, which is similar to Rose In Chains, is currently going viral. In other words, the author (Senlinyu) transformed her original fan fiction into a story that could be published by a publishing house, which is considered original, and gave it a completely different twist. It's catching my attention, but what worries me is that it's a pretty dark fantasy, and honestly, I don't have any problem with touching on sensitive topics; I think I'm a little insensitive in that sense. But I feel like since I already know that it comes from a story with a couple that doesn't really appeal to me, I find it a little hard to separate. I know that some people recommend not reading the old story in order to understand this one, since they have nothing to do with each other, and that the current story is quite good. I really wanted to take a moment to reflect and compare what is currently happening in the world of reading.
