The end began at the beginning of the year, or so I thought. But then, everything's is going to be alright in the end, if it's not alright, then it's not the end.
Doctors are really funny, they try so hard to make a terrible news sound like it's not that bad. I guess it's part of their job description, and I applaud them for it, I wouldn't know how to do that.
So when the doctor had gotten the results back from the fifth test the lab had run on me, he told of the outcome. They'd found something, something bad, something that could take my life in the process of trying to fix it. I just sat there staring at him, impassive. And then I went home and didn't cry until the next day.
Having a near death experience changed me, It changed my outlook on life. Life is so fragile, it could be gone with the snap of your finger. Before my experience, I'd lived carelessly, never really enjoying life. But it takes something that tragic, to make you appreciate the things you have. The little things, the free air, the stupid house, the heat of the sun. It makes you see beauty in everything around you, it makes you stop, and smell the flowers.
Everyday is like a gift wrapped up, waiting for us to open it, and it took a brush with death to make me understand that. So yeah, I'm grateful for the rain storm, it made me appreciate the sun. I'm grateful for my scars, they make me beautiful.
