Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses,
and all the king's men
Could not put Humpty Dumpty
together again.

The heroes of this age long poem, are the King's Men and their horses. At least, they are to me. What's important is, they did try to help, they probably did everything in their power to put Humpty Dumpty together again, Nowadays, we can't say the same for a lot of folks out there.

As you go through life, there'll be good times, and bad times. These, you will share with your friends and loved ones, if you have any. In the bad times, we or our friends might have a fall, due to circumstances. This fall might be bankruptcy, depression, wrong choices that end badly, Etc. Whatever it is, they will need our help to get back up, even if they don't ask, we are obliged to offer it.

In the case where, you're willing to help, there's a question of, how far should you go to help a friend? It is a delicate issue, when you think about it.

Alessandro Carli, has this to say about the issue;
If you truly want to help someone, get him involved in the process he has to go through. You may kindly refuse to give him money, or you may give it to him, PROVIDED he does something to create the conditions where he can get himself out of the vicious circle. Remember: you don't do the work for him by just giving him money. He's got to do his work, and you have your own, perhaps in another area of your life.

The important thing that you must remember, here, is that whatever you decide to do (to accept or refuse his request), it must happen from a place of sincere concern for your friend: that is YOUR process. You can say "NO", and still create a strong bond with him by deciding to walk with him along the way.
