Greetings.
I have created this account about a month ago, yet this is the first time I publish an "official" introduction post, meaning that the two previous attempts did not feature the "introduceyourself" tag in first position, dooming my previous posts to fail to get the attention I might have wished for.
Therefore, I am correcting this crime by omission and presenting myself to you, once more!
(Please note that all the images I use, unless specified otherwise, are either public domain or creative commons)
I am @lucemtenebris , which means light from darkness, a name that summarizes me well, both as an artist and as a human creature in general.
My life has not often seen brightness shine, ever since I parted with childhood, struggle and strife the seasons more common to me throughout the past three decades of my existence, hence my affinity for solace and darkness, whereas one can find respite, refuge and rest from quarrel and conflict. As I enter the quitessential years of this incarnation, I chose to strive for tranquility instead.
I am a passionate being, used to be quite the extrovert in my youth, yet, the weight of experience made me more of an introspect who is now leaning towards a moderate display of self to others. I am weary of the human condition and do not let myself be approached easily, beyond the mundanities of formal politeness. In other words, I am a private person.
Aside from artistic expression, I am much of an introvert, as I do not appreciate the tendency many people have, in these troubled times, to serve Machiaveli, wether knowingly or not, abiding to his precept of division and conquest.
I consider myself an outsider in this black and white world, this bipartisan dichotomy, where the right to be an unique individual contributing creatively to the collective my own way, without having to take sides of endorse factions, is everyday becoming a burden. It seems everyone gets offended by someone and needs to validate themselves in detriment to others these days...
I am fond of fantasy and scifi, from movies to comics to fiction novels and serialized streaming or tv. I have a soft spot for anything pertaining to the occult and the paranormal.
I am irreligious, yet am keen on studying philosophy and spirituality emanating from diverse denominational inspirations, albeit without their dogmatic rigidities.
Some would take pleasure in calling me an pantheistic atheist.
I am very interested by archeology, in particular, egyptology and the myths and culture of ancient mesopotamia. I am inclined to think that most of the so-called history of humanity is full of plot holes and that there is much that has yet to be unearthed. I am also quite intrigued by the theory of the Ancient Astronauts, even though I am generally distancing myself from most conspiracy nut jibber-jabber.
I do not think myself to be anything but myself, a unique individual with a unique will. I chose to live and let live. I am neither a member of the woke or the alt-right, as I could not care less for excessive polarity, rather, I strive for nuance and am fluctuating from light to dark, confortable in the grey area where no radicalized thoughts prevail. I do not care for politics. I long for art.
Art, in all its shapes and forms, is the only thing that gives life meaning, in my opinion. It kept me alive so far, no matter how difficult my ordeals have proven to be. The eye of the beholder, it is said, is where beauty resides, therefore it is a subjective process to observe the world from one's own perspective. How can one claim to have the only valid outlook on something once this is is known and understood?
I am here to meet people who resonate with my art and recognize something of themselves in my creations, partly or in whole, so we can cultivate our similarities while bridging our differences, through our complementarity and diversity. I want to resume more regularly producing prose and poetry, composing instrumental music, writing fiction and such, as I am somewhat returning from a prolonged artistic hiatus.
My technological means are kind of limited for the time being, all I own is an old dual core laptop with a missing "b" key, having to copy and paste that letter every time I need it, yet I can manage. I also have a music creation program I am hoping this laptop can handle, which I have yet to experiment with over the course of the next few weeks.
In the meantime, I shall produce poetry and fiction, one or two times a week, as I am limited by the ressource credits, hopefully getting more HP soon to eventually create and post every day.
Thank you for taking the time to read all this. I am looking forward to hearing from you in appreciation of my art or the exchange ideas.
Last minute P.S.: I wish to thank @inthenow for the generous delegation of HP that will allow me to comment and post more often, as opposed to the meager ressources I previously had... Much gratitude!
