How to achieve a productive photoshoot with babies?

Children photography can be one of the most beautiful but it is also one of the most difficult, since you do not control all the elements.

We think we have everything under control like the lights, the camera, the decoration and the environment. We are now ready to take beautiful photos without anyone stopping us.

And when we already did all the necessary technical tests we found the protagonists, the litmus test, THE MODEL.

Without a doubt this is the biggest challenge we face since we cannot go against your comfort and care. To achieve these photos we need your 100% collaboration.

Below I will leave you some TIPS so you can achieve good results

. Try to take the photos at a time when the baby is asleep (I'll explain why later on).

. The decoration must be made up of soft elements that do not bother the baby.

. Use external flash with diffuser, this way you do not aim it directly at the face and avoid this strong light in your eyes (and it will continue to sleep).

. The type of light should be cold, we have to prevent the baby from waking up when starting the photo session.

. The weather must be pleasant for the baby to continue his nap. Not too cold, not too hot.

. Avoid that in the place of the photos there are many people, it is necessary that there are only the necessary ones. If possible parents, the child, the photographer and his assistant.

. The handling of the model must be done with extreme care to care for the baby and avoid waking him up.

. And finally, I advise that the model is asleep:

1. To be able to manipulate it and achieve well-crafted and aesthetic photos.
2. Once the baby wakes up we enter the second part of the photos since we always want photos with the baby asleep and others with the baby awake.

NOTE: why the baby must be asleep when starting the photos? because once awake it is very difficult to get him to sleep when he is in the middle of the photo session.
