There is a lot of talk about "not settling for the bare minimum" in the realm of relationships, and in some cases I agree. Since for the same reason, many women end up justifying men who are a fiasco.

However, there is always the minority that takes this motto to the radical point. And there I no longer agree, because you fall into a narcissistic abyss where you are supposed to be the center of the universe for your partner, and nothing else matters, only you.

Basically someone obsessed with you. Which is not love. And in fact, it only manages to inflate a narcissism covered up by "I deserve someone who only notices me."

And that's when I think, if you only like how he treats you, then do you really like him? Gratitude is lost for the simple things that are part of everyday life, but that in accumulation are what generate a good relationship with your partner.

Today I thank my boyfriend for our 3rd December together, and for his presence in my life. While it's something any boyfriend "should" do, and it's the "minimum," it's also the least of me to thank him for it. 💜
