Exactly.
Nigerian politicians know that if they can appeal to people’s immediate struggles-poverty, hunger, ethnicity, religion, and fear—they can turn frustration into votes. Instead of offering long-term solutions, they often tell people what they want to hear during elections. The real tragedy is that after the votes are counted, the same people who were used as political tools are left to face the consequences.
