What Truly Makes Us Happy? Well,
Sometimes, happiness doesn't arrive with a loud celebration.
It can come quietly, in a moment when you realize that the people you love are okay, when someone remembers you, when you laugh until your stomach hurts, or when you sit down after a long day and simply feel at peace.
One experience that genuinely made me happy and will always make me happy is spending a simple moment with the people I love_ My family and in-laws...
As someone who is very far away from home,we get to meet only on Christmas season. And of course, the joy I feel whenever I get to meet everyone knows no bound.
There may be no expensive gifts, no major achievement, and nothing extraordinary happening. We just simply stay together, talking, laughing, teasing one another, and enjoying each other's presence.
Yet, somehow, those ordinary moments became one of those memories I would gladly revisit.
It made me realize that happiness isn't always hiding at the finish line of our achievements. Sometimes, it is sitting right beside us while we are busy chasing the finish line.
No doubt, achievements can certainly make us happy. Getting that job, passing an exam, reaching a financial goal, buying something we've worked hard for, or finally accomplishing a long-awaited dream can give us an incredible sense of fulfillment.
But to me, achievements often give us moments of excitement, while meaningful relationships and shared experiences can give us memories that stay.
Think about it this way...
Years from now, will you remember every amount of money you made, every award you received, or every goal you checked off your list?
Perhaps not.
But you may remember your mother's laughter. Your father's advice. Your friend's silly joke. Your child's first smile. That unexpected conversation that lifted your spirit. The evening everyone sat together eating, laughing and telling stories.
Those are the little things that quietly become the treasures of our lives.
For me, happiness is not simply about what I have achieved. It is also about who I get to share the journey with----family and friends.
Because what is the beauty of reaching the top if there is no one you love to turn around and smile at?
Maybe true happiness isn't about having a perfect life.
Maybe it is about noticing the beautiful moments hiding inside an imperfect one.
So, what is one simple experience in your life that genuinely made you happy? and is it something you achieved or something you shared with someone?
Let me read from you too.
