The following photographs are of a very curious and striking wild herb because its small flowers have a quite striking shape and that is why they are known as Scorpion tail and their scientific name is Heliotropium angiospermum Murray.
Las siguientes fotografías son de una hierba silvestre muy curiosa y llamativa pues sus pequeñas florecillas tienen una forma bastante llamativa y es por esto mismo que se les conoce como Rabo de alacrán y su nombre científico es Heliotropium angiospermum Murray.
Heliotrope plants (heliotropum) have a great variety of species of which more than half are still taxonomically unknown and several of them are adopted as ornamentals due to their compact size and beauty of the flowers since some of the species reach lilac and yellow colors, but in this case the angiospermum species has a white bloom.
Las plantas heliotropos (heliotropum) tiene un gran variedad de especies de las cuales más de la mitad aún están sin conocer taxonómicamente y varias de ellas son adoptadas como ornamentales debido a su tamaño compacto y belleza de las flores ya que algunas de las especies llegan a tner colores lilas y amarillos, pero en este caso la especie angiospermum tiene una floración blanca.
The way in which its flowers are born is very beautiful and it grows in pairs and elongated and at the end of the little flowers a kind of spiral is created, that is where the name scorpion tail comes from. Their white color looks pretty and I decided to make them in black and white to highlight their beauty more.
La forma en que nacen sus flores es muy bonita y va creciendo en pares y alargada y al final de las florecillas se va creando una especie de espiral es de ahi donde proviene el nombre de rabo de alacrán. Su color blanco luce bastante y decidí hacerlas en blanco y negro para resaltar más su belleza.
This particular species is poisonous, but there are others where they are used as natural remedies for gastrointestinal problems such as colic and spasms if they are ingested in the form of infusions, but everything is the responsibility of those who use it and recommend it, we must be cautious with what we ingest
Esta especie en particular es venenosa, pero existen otras donde son utilizadas como remedios naturales para problemas gastrointestinales como cólicos y espasmos si son ingeridos en forma de infusiones, pero todo queda en responsabilidad de quien lo utiliza y lo recomienda, debemos ser cautelosos con lo que ingerimos.
