As an investor, one of the most alarming trend I’m seeing in the market is how sexy entrepreneurship is being portrayed. Guys, I can guarantee you that being an entrepreneur is one of the most damaging things you can do your health, bank account and your self-esteem. If you decide to do this, you are going to eat like shit. Entrepreneurs I’ve talked to pour their entire savings into their projects and 99 out of 100 times, no one is going to want the shit that you are trying to sell.
Here’s the worst part of it all, the average lifespan of a startup is 3 years. That means it literally takes years for you to realize that this shit isn’t really worth it. And I realize that the only logical reason why anyone would be irrational enough to become an entrepreneur is because they are irrationally passionate about their idea. If you call yourself an entrepreneur, I challenge you to ask yourself if you’re one of these entrepreneurs or you are just in it for the sexiness of it.
