Several times I said that I respect Asian cinema and thanks to my wife, who studies Korean language, I get acquainted with new Korean products quite quickly. A couple of weeks ago, I had the good fortune to spend the evening behind a comedy thriller "Cheongnyeongyeongchal" , released in world cinema distribution under the signboard "Midnight Runners" and today I would like to share my impressions.

Young guys Gi-joon (Park Seo-joon) and Hee-yeol (Kang Ha-neul) go to the police academy and put a lot of effort to become worthy guardians of order. On the Christmas eve, having gone on leave, friends go to a nightclub to get acquainted with the girls, but no one wants to contact young policemen - after all, the Korean girls are well-deserved rich handsome men, businessmen or artists.

Frustrated cadets go home, but still try to drive to a random beauty on the street. Only now during the dispute about who will talk to her first become witnesses of her abduction. Naturally, the guys rush to her help and this night will be for them not only a real adventure, but also a pretty serious test.

The dramaturgy of Korean cinema has always pleasantly surprised me and even began to get used to the fact that some comedies can end in a hard drama, and a mystical thriller about ghosts and obsession will take and suddenly become a real detective. And the "Young Cops" were not an exception - beginning as a romantic comedy or a police baddy-movi, the film turns into a dashing action movie, making a lot of curtsy in the direction of comedy, putting the heroes in completely ridiculous situations. Then briefly includes a social drama and a criminal thriller about human trafficking, though, making this pause only in order to maximally push the gas pedal to the floor and create a grandiose mochilovo in the spirit of early paintings with Jackie Chan, thereby adding to the pluses of the film the references to the militants of the early 90's.

That still an attraction, but the young director Kim Jo-hvnu managed to mix genres and put an indecently driving film in which the balance between comedy and the dashing boevik is verified to the smallest detail. Like a high-tech high-speed train rushes on full pairs on the storylines.

I do not even know if it's worth adding that the film has collected a lot of positive feedback and became one of the biggest hits in the Asian box office, after all, after the trailer, do you really look it up?
