cca is one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Tuscany livinguktaiwan@livinguktaiwan.

Lucca is also known as the city of a hundred churches, thanks to the large number of religious buildings, from different eras, present within the walls. This is because, in addition to the official churches, each mansion has its own chapel.

Lucca is known for its imposing sixteenth-century walls, perfectly preserved, about 4 kilometers long, twelve meters high and 30 wide. The six doors that still allow access to the city are Porta Santa Maria, Porta Elisa, Porta San Jacopo, Porta San Pietro, Porta Sant'Anna and Porta San Donato. The surrounding walls are also characterized by eleven bastions which were used to defend Lucca from enemy attacks.
