On Thursday, March 22, I had an event at the university in which several participants were choosing as a main prize a course at a recognized institution that imparts knowledge in the audiovisual area. I noticed that most of the participants were light-skinned, and a few dark-skinned. In one moment of the event while sharing a break, they say to one of the dark ones "you will not win for black", which caused a bit of indignation in me since that sounded contemptuous.
I'm Engerbert Mayora, a 22 year old resident of the Vargas-Venezuela state. During the last quarter of Corporate Communication, I have done many courses, I have had great experiences and I am proudly Black.
I do not usually pay attention to that kind of racial comments, however there are times when I ask myself, How are there people who can still believe that superiority over the type of race matters? I know that many people make such comments in the form of comedy, as to have a good time and sometimes we even do self-bullying, but in many cases they do it seriously.
Being a racist demonstrates the high degree of lack of personal and intellectual development of a person. They try to demonstrate a superiority to others who can only believe it themselves, are nefarious and insecure themselves that without any doubt lack humility therefore always suffer from a high margin of social rejection.
People of black skin have been of great relevance in history, have important milestones and today tend to be a trend in the field of entertainment, sports and fashion.
The dark skin I love, it has opened many doors and has given me the grace to enjoy great benefits. I love my dark skin color, as well as love my mother's skin color that is quite clear. I love the symbiosis of races when a black and a white come together to create a wonderful being. In my case I am a coffee-and-milk combination, my mom is super white and my dad is super black. However I do not intend to have any superiority over others or believe that another person is superior to me.
Let us join more as humans, value the interior more than the outside and let us be an example of equality exists, and that being white, black, Chinese, Indian, man, woman, etc; We are unique but equal beings.
