Greetings guys, today I bring you another illustration of "Moana", to close the cycle of this famous film, we will draw the character of the Maui demigod, that companion who helps to realize the adventure of our protagonist, in addition, in the design we will also add the rooster Hei hei to give a more funny sense to the drawing. As you know, we continue applying the same techniques we have been using, clearly defined by parts, for your better understanding. Next I will explain step by step how I got the final result. Without further ado, let's get started.
Saludos chicos, el día de hoy les traigo otra ilustración de “Moana”, para cerrar el ciclo de esta afamada película, dibujaremos el personaje del semidios Maui, ese compañero que ayuda a realizar la aventura de nuestra protagonista, además, en el diseño también agregaremos al gallo Hei hei para dar un sentido más gracioso al dibujo. Como saben seguimos aplicando las mismas técnicas que hemos venido usando, claramente definidas por partes, para su mejor comprensión. A continuación explicare el paso a paso de como obtuve el resultado final. Sin más que decir empecemos.
We apply the guidelines and give shape to the Maui character and the Hei hei rooster, plus we attach the accessories to their necklace.
Aplicamos las líneas guías y damos forma al personaje de Maui y al gallo Hei hei, además, colocamos los accesorios de su collar.
Once the sketch is ready, I proceed to refine the whole figure, detailing each part of the drawing; for both characters I use the same pencil brush, but in the case of Hei hei I decrease a little the thickness of the line so that the details are better seen.
Una vez listo el boceto, procedo a refinar toda la figura, detallando cada parte del dibujo; para los dos personajes uso el mismo pincel lápiz, pero en el caso de Hei hei disminuyo un poco el grosor de la línea para que se vean mejor los detalles.
Now we go to use the marker brush, I apply the base color taking care not to go over the line, we can also use the filler tool, in Hei hei we apply a degradation of two colors as a base, orange yellow and blue green.
Ahora pasamos a usar el pincel rotulador, aplico el color base cuidando en no pasarme de la línea, también podemos usar la herramienta de relleno, en Hei hei aplicamos un degradación de dos colores como base, naranja amarillo y azul verde.
We go on to apply the shadows, what I do is copy the color of the area where I'm going to shade and with the color palette under a little bit the brightness and saturation, to finally apply it with the airbrush, also in this step I apply the texture in the feathers of Hei hei and the hair of Maui.
Pasamos a aplicar las sombras, lo que hago es copiar el color de la zona donde voy a sombrear y con la paleta de color bajo un poco el brillo y la saturación, para finalmente aplicarlo con el pincel aerógrafo, también en este paso aplico la textura en las plumas de Hei hei y el cabello de Maui.
For the glows we apply the same technique we use for the shadows, we copy the base color to be illuminated, and modify it in the color palette, but this time we lower the saturation a little and increase the brightness, to finally apply it with the airbrush.
Para los brillos aplicamos la misma técnica que usamos para las sombras, copiamos el color base a iluminar, y modificamos en la paleta de colores, pero esta vez bajamos un poco la saturación y aumentamos el brillo, para finalmente aplicarlo con el pincel aerógrafo.
We made a simple background, it is a clear sky accompanied by few clouds, we used the watercolor brush and mixed different shades of blue.
Realizamos un fondo sencillo, se trata de un cielo despejado acompañado de pocas nubes, usamos el pincel acuarela y mezclamos diferentes tonalidades de azul.
We finish with the details, for this step we focus on designing the tattoos that characterize Maui so much, we use the marker brush at low opacity and with the color black we make the shapes.
Finalizamos con los detalles, para este paso nos centramos en diseñar los tatuajes que tanto caracterizan a Maui, usamos el pincel rotulador a baja opacidad y con el color negro realizamos las formas.
