Greetings guys, I hope you are all well, as I am, these days of quarantine have been quite bearable thanks to this community, as it allowed me to be more constant in my drawings. Continuing with the thread of publications of " Tangled", I continue with the design of the character of Flynn Rider, a young and adventurous thief, a little bit egocentric that after having stolen the crown of the reign, he runs away and after the escape he gets lost in the forest finding a hidden tower. Now we will explain step by step how I got the final result of the drawing. Without further ado, let's get started.
Saludos chicos, espero estén todos bien, así como yo lo estoy, estos días de cuarentena han sido bastante llevaderos gracias a esta comunidad, ya que me permitió a ser más constante en mis dibujos. Siguiendo con el hilo de publicaciones de “Enredados”, continúo con el diseño del personaje de Flynn Rider, un joven y aventurero ladrón, un tanto egocéntrico que tras haberse robado la corona del reinado, se da a la fuga y tras la huida se pierde en el bosque encontrándose con una torre escondida. Ahora pasaremos a explicar el paso a paso de como obtuve el resultado final del dibujo. Sin más que decir empecemos.
I make a scheme of rods resembling the skeleton of the character, here I determine the proportions of the body, and position of the same, for the head I draw a slight circle which divided by parts to position the eyes, mouth and nose, with soft strokes I place the hair and finally I design the small chameleon Pascal.
Realizo un esquema de varillas asemejando el esqueleto del personaje, aquí determino las proporciones del cuerpo, y posición del mismo, para la cabeza dibujo un leve círculo el cual divido por partes para posicionar los ojos, boca y nariz, con trazos suaves coloco el cabello y finalmente diseño al pequeño camaleón Pascal.
In this step I am going to refine the lines of the drawing, I add a new layer, and in the layer of the sketch under the opacity so that it serves me as guide, then I begin to make continuous and fluid outlines with the pencil brush modifying the pressure of the outline, to obtain lines with different thickness.
En este paso voy a refinar las líneas del dibujo, agrego una capa nueva, y en la capa del boceto bajo la opacidad para que me sirva como guía, luego empiezo a realizar trazos continuos y fluidos con el pincel lápiz modificando la presión del trazo, para obtener líneas con diferente grosor.
To facilitate the application of color, I divide the drawing into sections using different layers for each section, which are, skin, clothing, hair and another layer for the character of the chameleon Pascal. In this step I use the marker brush for this purpose.
Para facilitar la aplicación del color, divido el dibujo en secciones usando capas diferentes para cada sección, las cuales son, piel, vestimenta, cabello y otra capa para el personaje del camaleón Pascal. En este paso uso el pincel rotulador para tal fin.
I proceed to take the color of the area where I am going to darken, under its brightness, I increase a little the saturation and with the help of the airbrush I apply these shades. In this step I take advantage of placing the textures on Flynn's clothes and Pascal's skin.
Procedo a tomar el color de la zona donde voy a oscurecer, bajo su brillo, aumento un poco la saturación y con ayuda del pincel aerógrafo aplico dichas sombras. En este paso aprovecho a colocar las texturas en la vestimenta de Flynn y la piel de Pascal.
We used the same technique of shading, but this time increasing the brightness and lowering a little saturation of the color, I apply each brightness by sections using the airbrush, so I avoid mixing the colors with each other, a little on the hair, face, clothing and I refine certain areas using the blur brush to create a smooth gradient.
Usamos la misma técnica del sombreado, pero esta vez aumentando el brillo y bajando un poco saturación del color, aplico cada brillo por secciones usando el pincel aerógrafo, así evito mezclar los colores uno con otros, un poco en el cabello, rostro, vestimenta y afino ciertas zonas usando el pincel difumino para crear un suave degradado.
We designed a mountainous background by day, using the watercolor brush we made gradients from dark green to light green for the mountains and light blue for the sky, accompanied by some white clouds with touches of gray.
Diseñamos un fondo montañoso de día, usando el pincel acuarela realizamos degradados del color verde oscuro al verde claro para las montañas y azul claro para el cielo, acompañado de algunas nubes blancas con toques de gris.
To finish the drawing we designed some details, we added the metal parts of Flynn's suit, some faded leaves in the background and let's not forget his characteristic beard.
Para finalizar el dibujo diseñamos algunos detalles, agregamos las partes metálicas del traje de Flynn, algunas hojas difuminadas en el fondo y no nos olvidemos de su característica barba.
