Blessings dear community @ChristianFellowship, it is nice to be here, the peace of God be with everyone.
Every day, thousands of people around the world experience a common feeling: fear! Fear of violence, failure, getting married, being single, getting fat, going crazy, losing your job, getting sick and even dying. The list of fears is long and varied. No matter what fear haunts us, it always steals the best of us and of life. How many opportunities do we miss by giving way to such a negative feeling! How we fail to live and love in the name of fear!
Jesus' disciples were also afraid. Jesus once invited them to cross the Sea of Galilee. During the trip a strong gale rose and waves were thrown into the boat. The storm was so strong that it filled the boat with water. Naturally, the disciples were extremely agitated and thought they were going to die. But, imagine, in the midst of all this turmoil, Jesus was sleeping! His disciples, unhappy with the tranquility of Jesus, decided to wake him up and asked him, "Master, don't you mind that we die?" What they were really saying was, "Doesn't the Lord care what happens to us?" Isn't that how we feel when we experience fear? God doesn't seem to care! However, that was not the end of the story. The account tells us that upon hearing this question, Jesus immediately stood up and revealed his power and love by scolding the wind and saying to the sea, “Be still! Calm down! "The wind died down and there was total calm. After calming the sea and the winds, Jesus asked his disciples:" Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith? The disciples were terrified and amazed when they realized that even the wind and the sea obeyed Jesus.
In some moments the winds blow strong and there is a storm in the sea of our life. No boat that remains in the sea for many years escapes this. Our lives are small boats in a majestic sea. When we look at the vastness of the ocean, we admire its beauty and grandeur and at the same time fear its mysteries. Our God knows the sea of life and the boat that represents each of us! He knows how to guide us and is the only one who can calm the storm. And He says to us: "Be still and know that I am God!" Jesus is God Emmanuel! God be with us at all hours of the day and night! What are you afraid of?
