Hi, I’m another artist involved in this post; I didn’t write the text myself—friends handled the ideas and other topics. I created the previous drawing posted on DBuzz. We wanted to try out the DApp; that drawing had more of a story to tell, but there was a word limit. We think the microblogging concept is a great idea, though perhaps better suited for sketches or anecdotes told simply, rather than full, finished artworks. When posting on a traditional DApp, you have to write more and worry about layout and formatting styles, whereas microblogging makes everything very, very simple.

Vale, genial. Voy a hablar un poco sobre este dibujo: se titula "Robotic Love" (Amor robótico), aunque el nombre puede llevar a engaño. Es un encargo que hice hace un tiempo para un amigo; en él aparecen un personaje de videojuego el villano Prototype y un personaje original (OC). Se podría analizar esto —por ejemplo, cómo los jóvenes podrían acabar teniendo novias robot— y vislumbrar un futuro sombrío parecido al de aquel episodio de Futurama sobre novias robot. Si viste ese capítulo de niño, quizá te resulte desconcertante; podría suponer el fin de la humanidad. Ya se está trabajando en robots de aspecto humano para que hagan compañía a personas solitarias; es algo realmente extraño que podría suscitar un debate.
Okay, cool. I’ll talk a bit about this drawing—the title is "Robotic Love," which is a bit misleading. It’s a commission I did a while back for a friend; it features a game character—the villain Prototype—with an original character (OC). One could critique this—like how young people might end up with robot girlfriends—suggesting a dark future similar to that Futurama episode about robot girlfriends. If you saw that as a kid, you might be confused; it could spell the end of humanity. They’re already working on human-like robots to serve as companions for lonely people—it’s really strange, and it could spark a debate.

El dibujo lo hice totalmente con los dedos lo cual me llevó mucho tiempo—, así que planeo comprar una tableta gráfica para poder dibujar más. Tengo experiencia realizando encargos; de hecho, soy el artista con más experiencia del proyecto. Como no estoy vendiendo nada simplemente escribo una publicación y comparto mi proceso, me pareció buena idea compartir esto con todos ustedes. The drawing was done entirely with my fingers—which took a long time—so I plan to get a graphics tablet so I can draw more. I have some experience doing commissions; I’m the most experienced artist involved in the project. Since I’m not selling anything—just writing a post and sharing my process—I thought it would be a good idea to share this with you all. I’m not very familiar with the platform, so I welcome help from others in the hope of gaining support for my art.

Durante el proceso, siempre empiezo creando una capa en escala de grises, sin color alguno; más adelante, cambio a un fondo rojo y voy añadiendo color gradualmente a cada zona del dibujo. Te contaré un secreto: no utilizo líneas guía estructurales; es decir, no dibujo primero círculos ni formas básicas. Paso directamente al lienzo y dibujo sin darle demasiadas vueltas. Es una especie de talento que tengo, fruto de mi costumbre de dibujar con bolígrafo, una técnica que he ido perfeccionando con los años.
During the process, I always start by creating a grayscale layer without any color; later, I switch to a red background and gradually add color to each area of the drawing. I’ll let you in on a secret: I don’t use structural guidelines—meaning I don’t sketch out circles or basic shapes first. I go straight to the page and draw without overthinking it. It’s a sort of talent I have, stemming from my habit of drawing with a pen—a technique I’ve developed over the years.
