In these weekly updates we will bring fresh content to Hive, in the form of our game coding experiences; IBT is a developing PC game - the one to have future Crypto interactions.
Companion System
We've been hard at work trying to tweak the AI to do stuff to bring IBT to life. Some villages will include a few locals and missions so it is vital to start creating a code that not only allows you to interact with AI but have AI companions follow you too. This has been a whole different learning curve as for some terrain is completely buggy and your companion can get a little confused sometimes. Overall, we are looking at having two extra companions to follow you on your quest.
Random NPC's
For IBT Original it is important to be able to interact with the locals. Some will want to talk and others will just tell you to leave you alone. There may even be the odd occasional local that runs away from you when approached. Maybe they have something to hide? So far we have managed to get the NPC's to randomly walk around town. Plus when approached most will turn and face you. If you run around them they will continually face you. Some NPC's will see your just playing with them and will just leave. In this Gif displayed we tested cows, maids and guards with a few small issues but it worked enough to be able to be added and tested in the next download.
Recipe System Completed
The recipe building system is up and running. All we have to do now (which involves editing) from here is merely adding new items to the recipe list. Therefore all the code work is done!
To make things interesting, we now have this system where crafting an item may lead to crafting another item/ material used for making other things. So as a tip for IBT it is a good idea to raid, grab anything you can along your journey since certain items can be handy.
