In these weekly updates we will bring fresh content to Hive, in the form of our game coding experiences; IBT is a developing PC game - the one to have future Crypto interactions.

After a short break, it's time for another brief update from the IBT game building team.

Those pesky seagulls!

What is the use of having shores in a game without those flying scavenging pesky seagulls!

These seagulls will be randomly flying along shorelines and will also be capable of making pesky annoying noises that they make. What worked out so well is the seagull uses the crow mesh with some alterations with the x and y axis (nerd talk) and this reduces the file size of the game and fps....Also another cool feature is the random paths they take and the capabilities to avoid objects. Inland we are also working on complete random paths for birds and trying to make the environment more unpredictable.

Many changes since last demo - its getting closer!

With the upcoming demo there have been many changes compared to the last one. It has been quite some time since we released a demo to be tested and there are multiple reasons why (Oh hecks..try and build a game and you will see why release dates change! Agghhhh....), but this post is mainly about key changes.

Here is what to expect:

  • Changes in lighting.
  • Changes in title screen and movie.
  • Day Night features.
  • Ocean now swimmable.
  • Foliage and grasses replaced.
  • New trees added.
  • Some bug fixes.
  • Extra ambient sounds added even with day/night cycle sound changes.

That's it for this week.
