I worked in sales for about two years; your post couldn't have been more accurate. Empathy plays a key role in this business.

To be honest though, I can't say I enjoyed my time in sales. It was probably the most stressful period of my life. Most customers act like total jerks, and I had the misfortune of working with a terrible manager with poor leadership skills. I was turning into a human punching bag.

Handed in my resignation, rode off into the sunset and promised to never work in sales or customer support ever again.
