Hive's tokenomics are an absolute shitshow.
There are many people on here who have earned MILLIONS of HIVE tokens circle-jerking and posting garbage two or three (or more) times per day. Nobody's gonna buy their bags.
I don't care if their content is super-high quality or whatever the fuck. I won't give them my hard-earned money. I'm here for the tech, not their opinions on anything. Sure, I could enjoy a couple quality blog posts, but if they have to earn rewards to produce them, they can leave the platform. LinkedIn, Reddit and a bunch of other platforms are full of content nobody earns money to upload. They've worked fine all these years.
I still don't understand why everyone's so obsessed with blog post rewards. This ecosystem is so much more than a blogging platform. They should have been abolished a long time ago. People who wanna blog will do so regardless. You will only lose the leeches without rewards.
Then there's the idiotic notion about engagement and all that garbage. Yeah, let's all start commenting left and right, as if that will magically attract investors out of nowhere. A few more insightful comments a day and HIVE will go on a bull run. Facepalm.
Then you have all those stupid burn posts all over the place. Like what is the purpose of this madness? Imagine how that would look to someone new here, trying to make sense of everything they see. I swear just navigating the platform is utterly annoying these days. Everything looks like a scam.
I sound angry and I sure as hell am, because I'm tired of seeing interesting projects dying and talented devs walking away due to the fact that the price just can't stop bleeding. I still use quite a few dapps, and will continue to do so (at least until they are forced to pull the plug as well), but it just feels absolutely dumb to invest money in a token that's being printed and dumped to death on a daily basis.
Notice I didn't say a word about the DAO and DHFs in this post; the aforementioned problematic conditions are pre-existing.
Now, let's not do anything about it. Let's all pretend it's BTC's fault, or the market and so on and so forth, and hope the price will magically bounce because reasons.
Sounds like an intelligent strategy, doesn't it?
