I took this panoramic during a road trip in the Alentejo countryside, which produces amazing wines and is less hyped - and therefore less expensive - than the Douro region. More precisely, I was in one of my favourite medieval villages in Europe: Monsaraz. I love the contrast between the hanging cloth's colours in the foreground and the green horizon behind - so much so I even wrote a haiku for it, in Portuguese, which I could not find anymore. It went something like this:
Roupas ao vento
Num varal em Portugal
Parado no tempo
Which translates:
Clothes in the wind
On a clothesline in Portugal
Frozen in time
