Mycelic Infantry are lumbering behemoth fungus. They are the least intelligent of the Mycelia and are put on the front lines as a strong defense. They are incredibly tough, but slow.
Overview
The Mycelic Infantry belongs to the Earth Splinter, which became one of the strongest Splinter after the Obsidian made her appearance from the Chaos Legion set. She is quite powerful, but my favorite Earth Summoner is Mylor Crowling and the Scarred Llama Mage with Kron the Undying.
My first ever rented card was Mylor and I remember that I rented him for 10 DEC, which I was battling for around 3-4 days to afford him. At first it looked too expensive to rent him, but he changed my perspective about this game completely, because I experienced my first 20+ Win Streak, which felt amazing. After that I started to rent different cards to find out which is the strongest, but I always felt that the Earth deck is quite powerful. 😁

The Mycelic Infantry is a monster with tank capabilities, thanks to his Shield ability from Level 1. This ability will halves all the incoming melee and ranged damage targeting the Mycelic Infantry. He is very slow and his speed is not going to increase at all throughout his Levels from Level 1 to 8.
In special rulesets such as the Reverse Speed this slow speed comes very handy and I always pick him as my tank in that.
The Giant Killer and Enrage abilities making him very strong against high mana cost monsters as long the opponent is not going to bring any magic attack creatures. 😁
Market price for the Mycelic Infantry
If you are going to burn and delete from the existence this Water card, it will yield 20 DEC if it is a regular card and 500 DEC if it was a gold card. Three of the gold foil cards havs been deleted over time.
This card is a Rare card and it is part of the Chaos Legion set, which means that the price of the regular card is quite cheap, because it is still in print. One BCX of this card cost around 0,11 USD, so if you want a maximum level of this monster it will set you back with around 12,65 USD. 😁
This card is still in print, so his price is keep going down slowly, but recently the Gold Foil version of him started to gain some value. 😊

My lineup
| You can't make any mistake if you choose the Obsidian to any battle, but you need to make sure that your opponent wouldn't or can't bring any counter against her. It is very difficult to defend your monsters against magic damage especially if your summoner like the Obsidian gives +1 magic damage to all of her friendly monsters. 😁 | |

| The Regal Peryton is a magic creature and such he will take advantage of the Obsidian's +1 magic attack buff. He also has huge speed to ensure that he will attack first in every round. The Flying ability and high speed gives him a lot of chance to dodge the incoming melee and ranged* attacks. 😉 | |
| The Wood Nymph is a low budget healer as well and she is a very good addition in low level battles. Her main ability is Tank Heal, which is perfect to support the Mycelic Infantry in the first position. 😊 | |
| Usually I use the Khmer Princess as a second cheap healer in my team, but unfortunately on Level 1 she is just a damage dealer. With the help of the Obsidian the 2 magic damage is amazing for only two mana. 💪 | |
| The Xenith Archer cost two mana as well and there is no other damage dealer for this mana, so I had to use her. She is quite useless with her low speed and damage, but still better than nothing. 😅 | |
| The Djinn Biljka is untargetable to any enemy monsters as long as there are other monsters on his side. He will attack until the end of the battle and because of that he is capable to deal significant damage throughout any battle. 😁 |
The Battle

My opponent brought Tarsa who gives +1 melee and +1 health to all of her monsters. Luckily my opponent didn't bring any magic attack creature, but as always they wanted to target my weak backline with their Sneak and Opportunity creatures.
The first round was very bad for me because I lost two of my creatures without even attacking at all. My healer died, so I had to kill my opponent quickly otherwise I will lose my creatures one by one.
In the beginning of the second round the fast Regal Peryton killed the Living Lava, so their solid defense tank was gone and the Tenii Striker fell into his position. The problem was that their Serpentine Spy killed my another low level creature.
My opponent had two very good and fast rangers, but my Mycelic Infantry and his Shield ability stood strong front of them halving their damage. 💪
In the last two rounds my and my opponenet were head to head battling, but luckily his last ranged monster fell into the first position and he couldn't shoot anymore giving me the win! 😁
If my opponent would change the position of the Serpent Spy and the Spark Pixies I might lose this battle. 😛
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
My strategy was to use as much magic creature as I can, but unfortunately I did not expected for my opponent to attack my backline and I almost lost the battle because of that. What I would change is to use Queen Mycelia and her Protect ability to give +2 to all of my low health monsters to give them an extra layer of defense. 🤗

I like him a lot especially in the Reverse Speed ruleset, but he has a major weakness, which is the magic damage. He doesn't have any kind of protection against it and he would die so quickly than the Living Lava in this battle. 😇
