Yes. There are many people who have common sense and put themselves in their proper place, thus avoiding supporting or belittling an idea that they previously condemned or supported. But there's also what we call "changing thoughts and attitudes" when we mature, but that's another case, different from the one mentioned in your post. In Biden's case, he is more concerned with the enrichment of others than in the lives that are in that state of dictatorship that lasts for decades and when someone in his family was caught in the jump, he automatically forgets the legal parameters of justice and defends the his son, with "nails and teeth" in the so-called paternal protection, but we know that it is wrong and that justice has to interfere in the case, regardless of the degree of influence that the person has.
