Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park - Vancouver

When taking photographs of the park in the past, I've consistently tried to omit the surrounding city, thinking that it detracts from the ambiance. With this image I've included some of the surrounding residential towers in order to convey the feeling of sanctuary and peace that's provided amidst the hustle and bustle of big city life.
Stepping off a busy city street into the beautifully arranged garden is instantly calming. A fairly high wall around the perimeter cuts out most of the traffic noise. It's a "breath of fresh air" in a city that rarely sleeps.
