More News on FUN Curation Issues

Last week we posted a quick update about how we screwed up the FUN curation for everyone.

We had hoped that it would be an easy fix, but it doesn't look like that will be the case. While we have removed the votes from @lolztoken that was sucking up all the curation rewards and curation earnings are again climbing, they are still way down from where they should be. I don't fully understand how Hive Engine Reward pools work, but it appears that our mistake caused the pool to be drained, and it is going to have to refill to get back to normal.

We are using our @lolz.fun account for reference. Before the screw-up, @lolz.fun was earning around 3.6 FUN per upvote.

But after the screw up, those earnings dropped to 0.07 FUN per upvote!

As we said, those earnings are climbing, and are now about 0.4 FUN per upvote.

So we are getting back to normal, but still are about only 10% of what earnings should be (which we predict will not be for another week at least).

We understand it is upsetting to see your earnings drop the way they did and want to make sure everyone knows we are going to do our best to make things right.

Our Plan To Make Things Right

We are working on a script that will reward users FUN tokens based on their curation earnings for a given day multiplied by the ratio of the expected earnings for @lolz.fun for that day and @lolz.fun's actual earnings for that day.

For example, lets say @user earned 0.1 FUN from curation yesterday, and @lolz.fun earned 4 FUN tokens. We will send @user -

(0.1 * 36/4) - 0.1 = 0.8 FUN tokens

To avoid "crashing" the market for FUN by dumping the last 2 weeks worth of make-up earnings all at once, we will be running one day at a time.

We will also keep sending make-up payments until such time as the @lolz.fun's earnings return to at least 80% of the pre-mess-up earnings.
