I agree that "complacency" and "ignorance" isn't exactly the same as "responsibility".

Certainly our OWNERS are "responsible" for historical atrocities.

And they're mostly dead now.

The average citizen believed that forcing people to learn english and forcing them to become "good christians" was actually doing the "poor savages" a great favor.

As an INTP I have zero interest in "assigning blame or credit".

I am primarily focused on SYSTEMIC FAILURE.

I remember hearing, back in 2002, that we should stop buying oil from Libya and Iran and Venezuela because "they support teh terrorists" (and strangely NOT Saudi Arabia?).

This made me realize the cognitive dissonance popularized by the CON-ARTISTS.

Oil is a GLOBAL MARKET. It doesn't matter if "America" "refuses" to buy from "bad actors".

The price of oil is set by GLOBAL DEMAND.

Am I "sponsoring teh terrorists" every time I drive my car?

Were all the "good Catholics" responsible for the actions of Torquemada and Columbus?

Can we exculpate individuals who are "following orders"?

Can we hold the construction workers who built the "Death Star" "responsible" for their OWNER'S atrocities?

We can't "have-it-both-ways".

I propose we stop trying to "blame" "individual" "bad actors" and recognize the fact that FEUDAL HIERARCHY and MOBSTER ORGANIZATIONS and CON-ART is the "true criminal".

Demonizing names and faces makes us feel good, but has less than zero practical value (it's counter-productive).
