Hi, I think it is a great idea as long as there's no reward. It is likely to rapidly incentivize abuse.

And considering that communities/projects/curators have proven to have a history of very poor due diligence when it comes to abuse of their curation (just some recent 3peak example of giving freebies to evident scam account: https://steemit.com/@m16 one of dozens Steemcleaners catch each week ), it is likely to cause massive wave of abusers trying to exploit it just as they right on jump on any new feature or idea that allows exploitation.

Communities/projects/curators usually learn about abusers/abusive posts after they are caught by us, usually when it is too late. Some abusers go unnoticed for months.

Just to give example of what above feature can bring is creation of circle jerk groups that cross post each other's posts to get extra crypto bucks. It is also likely to incentive users that have never tried to exploit to jump on bandwagon as it is anew norm.

Steemit is no way similar to Reddit nor Twitter, because of (crypto) monetary system being introduced directly into content creation .

Posts earn bucks here so the content publishing here works in completely different way and different approach applies than on these platforms.

The other thing is that allegedly Steemit is supposed to be built around concept of Proof of Brain so this feature seems to be going against it. How's that supposed to reward creativity, originality and brain power...
