A week passed from my last post and if you saw my last post you already know that I was on vacation and that was why I couldn't upload a post during the past week. I had a great time and wasn't really in the mood to play any nft-games, to be honest, and that was why I didn't upload any new content. Also, a great part played that I didn't have a reliable internet connection in my home. Anyway, I am going to be active again from now on and I chose to start with the series highlights from the ladder for @splinterlands. The initiative for this post is the Social Media Challenge from Splinterlands.
If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part, if you are new to Splinterlands, I will make a summary for you! I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words! So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn DEC (basically the crypto-coin of the game), the more you play and you are going up in the ladder, the more rewards you get (such as NFT-cards, etc). If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning DEC and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!
The Battle
Summoner Selection
Lorna Shine is today's summoner and as many of you already have understood this is one of my favorites from the Life class. This summoner grants Divine Shield to all of my monsters. Our opponent chose Obsidian and we will expect him to play a full Magic Attack formation. Let's find out the way we tried to beat him.
Ruleset
Explosive Weaponry: All monsters have the Blast ability.
Earthquake: Non-flying monsters take 2 damage at the end of the turn
Teams' Formation
Team presentation
Chaos Knight is going to be our secondary tank in this battle. The reason I choose to pick this particular monster is that I knew the monster in the first position of our opponent's formation is going to be a Melee attack monster. So the Shield ability is going to be very useful here, also I know the magic attack monsters are going to be busy with my main tank.
The second monster I used was Sand Worm, most of you already know that I value this card a lot. I placed it here because I wanted to infiltrate to the backline of my opponent's formation and destroy his best cards like Queen Mycelia and Goblin Psychic. Also, the value of this card skyrockets when it gets the ability Blast, just think about the 3 blast damage to the monsters next to the target.
Bila the Radiant is the third card I played in this battle and the reason I played this card is that I wanted to focus on some Magic Attack monsters this is a perfect fit for my formation and I really like the ability it got Life Leech. As you would see in the battle this ability was sealed the win for us.
High Priest Darius is the next card that I placed in fourth place. As I said before I wanted my main sources of damage to be Magic attack monsters and this card is an awesome fit. Also, I really wanted the ability to Resurrect in this battle because it makes a really great combo with our main tank as you would see in the battle.
In the fifth place, only one monster could be and this is Venator Kinjo. Many of you would wonder why I say that but you will understand everything when you find out the card that is in the last place. Kinjo has the ability Reflexion Shield and it manages to counter all the blast damage from our opponent's cards. This combo with our main tank is really OP and can protect you from a lot of damage.
The last card I used in this battle is the Shieldbearer and this is our main tank. This card has the very useful ability Taunt, which means that all monsters except the first one, can only attack this monster.
That means that it gathers all the incoming attacks from the opponent and in that way we can defuse all the blast damage with our previous monster Venator Kinjo.
