With a lot of spare time, and luckily spare money, I decided to purchase some Conference Pear trees and add them to the growing number of fruit and vegetables in my garden that I am taking care of! They are quite pricey however hopefully in the future they bare a huge amount of fruit that I can use for all sorts: the pears themselves, sliced pears in salads, pear tarts and many more! (I'm sure Anais over at 
The variety that I decided to go for was the Conference Pear. The most common eating Pears here in the UK, hence their name 'The Table Pear'. Given that the fruit trees were a tad pricey I wanted to make sure that the fruit that I could harvest from the tree is reliable, predictable and definitely tasty! I know that these pears can become very soft and sweet! They even have some healing qualities that are amazingly healthy, they are packed full of Vitamin C and Potassium (
For the time being, these guys are going to stay in the pot plants. Currently back in at Mum's house and If I plant them here they are going to have to stay here. When I own my own house I'm sure I will plant them in the ground there! I going to enjoy watering them every other evening, around 1.5L of water per tree should be enough! They will live in the corner by the greenhouse so that they get plenty of sun and protection from some of the strong winds that we seem to be having here in the UK!
