Ad revenue depends a lot on your traffic source and the country your audience is from. I don't know if google gives you those settings. But alternative ad networks do. It makes sense to test different platforms and compare their cpm rates to maximize your income. Speaking of Google AdSense, they have a bunch of restrictions, they can easily reject you from an ad campaign, and overall I think this option is the least flexible or profitable.
