As the deadline for Brexit inches closer (day or hour doesn't work like inch denoting progression, interesting!) we still all seem to be in headless chicken mode. Those pro are headlessly convinced it's going to happen and we'll be fine, those against are headlessly convinced it's going to happen, badly, and we're all going to die or run out of food and start killing each other.
Most of my friends are in the latter camp. I voted remain myself. I, for once, favour the status quo (I mean the status quo of a few years ago that wasn't heading over a cliff, not the present one). But I also have huge sympathy with the people who voted leave in order to get some power and some change in their lives.
I've been more and more aware lately of a more vicious streak in remainers, as the situation gets tenser, all I see on FB is stuff about how we've been betrayed by morons who listened to the lies of politicians and it's all their fault and it just feels a lot to me like if anyone was talking about a racial or religious group in the same terms we'd be calling them out for racism or hatred.
I'm still convinced that there'll be another massive plot-twist between now and March. The interconnections with Europe are just too tight for us to chop it all off with no deal.
But who knows what? Because if we knew, it wouldn't be a plot-twist!
