A while back, I wrote that I was looking forward to being able to pay my rent with hive. This was before the price dropped slightly to what we have in the markets. I talked about these plans
here

Since then, my hbd doubled beyond what I had predicted and I was pleased, however as the value of hive had dropped, I knew I would have to use the money I was planning on withdrawing for something else. Also, I paid my rent a few days back( before the 3.5 days for hbd to hive conversion had passed) and my bills this month was above my estimate so hive money could not cover that.

I still had one debt infact and I knew that I could do something about that instead. Before I talk about it, let me show a screenshot of what's going to serve as a trophy for what hive has been able to do for me

Sometime in September, I made an on the spot decision to but a huion drawing pad which cost about 3999 uah, approximately 146 dollars. I had the money to pay on the spot, but I decided not to, because I felt that paying installmentally would force me to make constant use of it. I didn't want to buy something that would sit in my house idly. The thought that it was a recurring payment made me think of how to justify my monthly spend. It worked because I've been drawing very consistently since then.

Here is a screenshot of how the payment system works

I had already paid about a thousand uah so far and paid 363 uah monthly. At this rate, I would have paid about a thousand extra by July of next year when this debt was meant to be paid off as can be seen below

That is 4362uah for an initial purchase of 3999uah.

Today, my hbd to hive conversion was successfully completed and I thought it was time to reward my drawing pad for working to pay its own debt off :)

Here is the amount of hive I had

I had about 50 dollars worth of hive I'd bought some days back on binance when the price dropped and this is why when I transferred it to binance it's slightly higher than what should have been the value if I was only sending the hive I had strictly from my wallet

I made sure to transfer little amounts of hive the first two times just to test my ability to send hive across wallets because I did not want to make any mistakes in this big transfer.

I then proceeded to buy some bitcoin as you can see above

It was successful and I sold half of my bitcoin for uah.

The outstanding amount for my debt was about 2900 uah but I decided to withdraw 2800 instead just to have an even number.

You can see now I have successfully paid my debt with hive. Hive has paid for me to do art while paying me for doing art. Such a win win situation.

Cheers!
